Last month, John and I had the opportunity to be in Guatemala with John Maxwell for meetings with the President and his cabinet, as well as meetings with a total of over 20,000 people from the Department of Education to Government Officials to Bank Executives to Entrepreneurs and Business owners.
John (my John V.) was not only responsible for leading the teams that carried out these events, but he also did the translating for John M. at all of the events. It was incredible to watch the two Johns interact and have so much fun together on stage and still find a way to teach Biblical leadership principles in a non-religious way that had everyone sitting on the edge of their seats waiting to hear more.
For me, the best part of all was what took place at the very end of each meeting. In each session, when John Maxwell finished speaking, he would extend an invitation to remain in the room for anyone that would like to stay and hear about the most important person in his life, Jesus Christ. In every session, at least 80-90 percent of the people remained in the room. He would then share with them about his relationship with Jesus, and talk about the misconceptions that people have about Jesus. After providing a correct image of who Jesus really is, he would invite people to raise their hand, or stand, or come forward if they wanted to have a relationship with Jesus, too. It was amazing to watch the thousands and thousands of people that would raise their hand, or stand, or come forward and pray out loud with John to accept Jesus as Lord of their lives.
In the 3 days of meetings, over 11,000 people prayed with John and then came forward to receive their free copy of the John Maxwell Leadership Bible.
Transforming a nation, raising up leaders, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ…it's happening…one nation at a time.
